If cleaning is needed after use of pepper corns, simply empty the contents of the mill and replace with salt and grind. This procedure will remove the oils produced by the pepper. Once completed unscrew the grinding mechanism and brush away any excess buildup of salt. Alternatively you can clean the grinder by wiping with a damp cloth, in doing so the grinder will have to be left to dry for approximately 48 hours before being placed back into the mill.
